Troop 96
Overview
Welcome to the Troop 96 website. Troop 96 is located in Seagoville, Texas ( southeast Dallas County). We are hosted by the First United Methodist Church - Seagoville. The First United Methodist Church of Seagoville is one of the oldest churches in the Seagoville community, and we are proud to be a part of it’s existence.
Troop 96 has been in existence in Seagoville for 27 years, meeting at various locations before finding it’s home at the First United Methodist Church. Boy Scouts have been active in the Seagoville community beginning in the 1940's. As a time line gets put together and more history is uncovered of scouting in Seagoville, we will place a link on this page to take you to what we have. Until then, that site is still under construction.
Troop 96 is for the most part a small troop as compared to most. We have approximately 20 boys registered and at any one time 12-15 actively involved.. We go camping every month, attend Winter and Summer week long camps, take High Adventure trips annually, canoe, backpack, fish, and generally have the time of our lives. We follow the Aims and Methods of scouting to achieve our goal of raising young boys into strapping young men, the leaders of tomorrow, by instilling good values and morals.
If you would like to be a part of a Great organization and have as much fun as we do, then go to one of the following links and print out an application, fill it out, and take it a Troop near you. If you would like to be apart of Troop 96, we meet on Monday nights at 7:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church - Seagoville ( on the corner of Malloy Bridge Road and Kaufman Street ).
