Eagle Scout
The Scouts and Scouters of Troop 20 extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Captain Tristan N. Aitken, an Eagle Scout from Centre County and brother of our local Monaken Lodge 103 of the Order of the Arrow. Capt. Aitken was killed in action near Baghdad, Iraq on April 4, 2003 by an enemy rocket propelled grenade attack. A graduate of Texas Christian University with distinguished military honors, Capt. Aitken had been deployed with America's 3rd Infantry Division from Fort Stewart in Georgia as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Through his leadership, courage and strong faith in God, Captain Aitken embodied the highest principles of the Boy Scouts of America. Prior to his departure to Iraq, he asked his friends and family to keep him and his fellow soldiers in their prayers.
