How to Get to Gregg Lake
From Hillsboro:  
Follow RT. 202 to the Center of Antrim.   Make a hard right at the Stop sign onto Route 31.  (Baptist Church on your right, Turn left/go Citgo station on left.)  Travel 3 miles on 31 to Gregg Lake Rd (on left, look for Scout logo).  Winds about 2 miles to Antrim Town Beach, about 3/4 mile on left after you reach the lake.

From Keene:
Take Route 9 north toward Concord.  Once you pass the state rest area (on left) start looking for the right turn for Rt. 31 south in Antrim.  Follow Rt. 31 four miles to Gregg Lake Rd.. (on right, look for Scout logo).  Winds around 2 miles to Antrim Town Beach, about 3/4 mile on left after you reach the lake.  

From Peterborough
Take Route 202 north to downtown Antrim.   After passing town hall, take Rt. 31 N at the Rt 202/Rt 31 "Y" .  
Travel 3 miles on 31 to Gregg Lake Rd (on left, look for Scout logo).  Winds about 2 miles to Antrim Town Beach, about 3/4 mile on left after you reach the lake.

Other Key Information

Parking:

At Gregg Lake Beach parking lot, site of last year's start to the Hike-a-Thon.   Additional parking on the south side of the road, and at the end of the road, just past the bridge.  

Water:

Units need to provide their own water.  

Bathroom:

Porta-potty supplied by Monadnock District

Firewood:

Ample supply on the Camp Chenoa grounds. Deadfall only, please.

Warming hut available for emergencies.  

Emergencies:   911 for fire or police.































Schedule
The 2009 Klondike will take place on Antrim's Gregg Lake, February 14, 2009.
0900 - 0950 hours -- Registration. Expedition patrol leaders receive orders at that time.
0900 to 0950-- Sled inspections immediately following registration
0950 hours -- Rules & questions

1000 Event starts -- Go to your patrol's base camp -- your 1st assigned base. Assign two patrol members to make cooking fire at this station. Remaining patrol members do the activity.  Leave fire in care of judge at that station at the end of the activity.
1030 2nd Assigned base
1100 3rd Assigned base
1130 4th Assigned base
1200-1300 Lunch at home base
1300 5th Assigned base        
1330 6th Assigned base
1400  Race to Admundsen Base.   Race starts at the air horn.  
1415  Hot chocolate & awards
1430  Dismissed
