It's important we have a good headcount of who will be going by the September 4 Troop meeting.
This headcount will determine how many canoes we'll need. We have some personally-owned
canoes; the rest we have to rent. If you say you're going but back out, you will still have to pay.
So don't sign-up unless you're sure you can go. We have a canoe trailer with several open
slots. If you have a canoe, we can safely and carefully transport it.
Please contact Rob if you are willing to lend us a canoe.
Each person must have and wear a personal flotation device (PFD) [life jacket] while in
a canoe.
There is no potable water anywhere near our campsite. Each person will need to bring 6 gallons
of water (3 gallons per person per day).
Activity cost is $25 per person (does not include patrol food).

This was the only date available and, considering the high cost of the pool rental and many of the Troop away at Sea Base, the leadership decided to forego the party and apply the money toward equipment. We had hoped to test 3 scouts who are not red-white-and-blue swimmers so they'd be eligible for the Sep canoe outing; however, this date would be after the required canoe training so it wouldn't help them. Sorry. |

Parking is limited at the site itself but there is a parking lot across the street at the intersection of Flintville and Paddrick Rds. (Broad Creek Public Landing, Dublin, MD) |
