Service (Sat, Dec 24, 6:45-7:45 PM):
Need scouts to park cars. Service is at 7:30 PM; arrive a little before 7:00 and finish
a little after 7:30 PM; scouts receive a full service hour of credit toward their next rank. Report to
Rob Mitchell in Class A uniform with outerwear appropriate for the weather. Weather-dependent (rained out

| 09-10 | Troop Holiday Party
(Fri-Sat, Dec 9-10, 7:00PM-7:00AM SHARP!):
Overnight party. Arrive in Class A uniform but bring swim suit and/or athletic
change of clothing (see packing list). Troop will provide pizza. Bring dozen cookies/brownies and 2-liter soda
plus donation
for our adopted family (at least one canned good or non-perishable food item; checks acceptable [to Troop 965]).
$15 per scout or adult. Pool available 9-12 PM, soccer field available midnight-6 AM. Bring games or
pre-approved sports equip (frisbee, football, cards, books, etc.); see

Maryland Weekend (Fri-Sun, Oct 21-23):
The Baltimore Area Council, in partnership with the American Red Cross will celebrate a gathering of
Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, along with their leaders, parents, friends and the General public
at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium featuring a program focused on Emergency Preparedness,
First aid, and Safety. Mark your calendar for Saturday OCTOBER 22, 2005. This mobilization is a
Council-wide event, where Scouting units, the Red Cross and many community organizations will come
together for fun, fellowship, training and competition. The weekend program will feature exhibits and
demonstrations by many community groups with a focus on emergency preparedness, first aid, and safety.
The day will start off with opening ceremony, followed by a full day of age-appropriate activities,
ending with Evening show at the Grand Stand which will conclude with Fireworks. Come for the day or camp

Backpacking Trip (Fri-Sun, Oct 21-23):
First-year scouts will hike 5 scenic miles, older scouts will
hike 10, and senior scouts will hike 13. Senior scouts will leave Webster Church at 6:00 PM Fri, hike Fri night,
and sleep during the day Sat; first-year and older scouts will leave 6:00 AM Sat and hike during the day.

| 01 | Darlington Apple Festival
Fund Raiser (Sat, Oct 1, 3-hour shifts from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM):
We do not ask our scouts to sell popcorn or
other items door-to-door for a couple months. Instead, we have 2 major
fundraisers (Apple Festival in Oct and Spaghetti Dinner in April)
where we ask scouts (and adults, if possible) to work a few hours in a
common cause. We'll be baking/selling the usual funnel cakes, fries,
hot dogs, baked goods, and drinks. All scouts are expected to sign up
for at least one work shift. Uniform is class A (scout shirt,
pants, scarf, and cap). Chairpersons are Anita
