JANUARY MEETINGS

All January meetings will be held on Monday nights at 7PM instead of Tuesdays.  The first meeting in January (1/5/2004) will be a recap and lessons learned from the Orienteering Day on 12/20.  The boys will also be planning out what activities they want to schedule for the first part of the new year and starting the planning for Summer Camp.

It is very important that all the Scouts attend this meeting!

PINEWOOD DERBY

The Pack Pinewood Derby is Saturday, January 24th starting at 9 AM.  The Boy Scouts will help with the event and then the Scouts will have races starting at 3PM and then will do the tear down of the tracks.

SKI TRIP

To all,
Especially those that are committed to going on the ski trip January 29 and 30th.
We will leave WCC between 5 to 7 PM on the 28th.  We'll negotiate a set time in January.
We will return on January 31st, early to mid afternoon.
The trip includes, lodging, ski equipment rental and all the meals, (except for the trip up and the trip back).
We are carpooling in as few a vehicles as possible and I'll handle the gas going into the trip.
Within limits, I can't cover 10 vehicles going to West Virginia.
I will need at least a $50 per person deposit by tomorrows meeting because I need to send the lodging payment in full next week.

Right now I have 16 people that have said yes.
Denise, I assume that Colleen is a yes with that number.  I'll need you to talk to Eddie Mill's parents.  He is not figured into the 16 yet
.

Due to the girl/boy thing it looks like those 16 will need 5 rooms.  That would raise the price to around $170 per person but I'll know more before final payments are due.  I have 6 rooms held right now but currently will let one go when I pay if no more people are going.

SWC

Hey Everyone..........I would like to thank those at the meeting tonight for their input and would love to reach out to everyone for idea's. We have 5 people attending full time for sure and 3 or 4 that are still unsure. This is your chance to support those of us going out to brave the cold weather brrrrrrrrrrr for the good of the pack and troop. We are asking for any idea's that you might have to help us with our theme which is the X-Men. I got somewhat of a crash course tonight since I haven't seen the movie. My thanks to Sheila Harmon and Denise Bourne for volunteering to do the patrol flag. They would probably say that they were volunteered but that's OK too. Their probably use to it by now.

We are going to have action nicknames related to scouting and need some idea's. These are the scout activities........Knife and Ax,Cooking,First Aid,Orienteering(compass),Knots, and pinewood derby. For instance a nickname for orienteering might  be "wanderer". We also need a song or cheer that would could sing or chant related to the theme of the X-Men and possibly 10 years of the SWC and scouting  in general. Any suggestions no matter how silly(which are usually the best ones) is certainly welcome. Thanks and hope you have a great holiday season.
