The City of Rolling Hills Estates will commemorate 45 years of cityhood with an Old Fashioned City Celebration on Saturday, September 14, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. to dusk at Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Boulevard.
Scouts of Troop 257 will participate in the flag ceremony from 12:00 to 12:15. A rehearsal is scheduled to start at 11:15 A.M.
Equestrian competitions, jousting demonstrations, an international food pavilion, and live entertainment have been planned for this year's event. A spectacular carnival area will be offered all day for a pay-one-price of only $6. A wide selection of other fun and amusing activities, such as a petting zoo, pony rides, pie eating contest, water balloon toss, and Jim Gamble's marionettes will provide children with an endless day of entertainment.
